Afrotopia

Felwine Sarr asks readers to imagine African futures without accepting inherited rankings of progress as the only measures of success. His essay explores the relationship between culture, economic choices, collective imagination and the institutions through which a society describes its hopes.

It is a work for readers attracted to ambitious, argumentative nonfiction: a book to read with questions in hand rather than a finished blueprint to adopt without debate.
